India-China Drug Regulatory Meeting was Held in Shanghai
In order to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the drug regulatory authorities of China and India and the drug industry of the two countries, and jointly protect and promote public health, the "India-China Drug Regulatory Meeting" was held in Shanghai on June 21, 2019. The conference was sponsored by China National Drug Administration, India Central Drug Standard Control Bureau, organized by Indian Embassy in China, Indian Consulate General in Shanghai, Chinese Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Products, and co-organized by Indian Ministry of Commerce. Xu jinghe, Deputy Director of the State Food and Drug Administration, Reddy, Director-General of the Central Bureau of Drug Standards Control of India, Misra, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of India, Mandeep, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India, and Ruifeng, Consul General of the Indian Consulate General in Shanghai attended the meeting and addressed the audience.
China and India are both big pharmaceutical countries, and the pharmaceutical industry has many similarities, as well as advantages and complementarities, which provide a solid foundation for the development of trade and cooperation in the pharmaceutical field between China and India. In recent years, the pharmaceutical trade between the two countries has shown a trend of continuous growth. India has become the fourth largest pharmaceutical trading partner of China and the largest exporter of Chinese APIs. During the exchange meeting, the two sides had extensive exchanges on such topics as relevant laws and regulations and technical requirements of import drug registration of China and India, overseas inspection and compliance guidelines for drugs, China's drug bidding and procurement policies and bidding procedures, and India-China pharmaceutical industry cooperation. China's State Food and Drug Administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, National Health Insurance Bureau, and Shanghai Drug Administration Bureau, Chinese Medicine and Health Products Import and Export Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, India's Central Drug Standard Control Bureau, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Commerce, Indian Embassy in China, India Consulate General in Shanghai and other relevant departments, as well as representatives from China and India pharmaceutical enterprises and association, a total of more than 150 people attended the meeting.
Prior to the exchange meeting, Xu Jinghe and his delegation met with Director General of the Central Bureau of Drug Standards Control of India (ccdi) and exchanged views on strengthening future cooperation between drug regulatory authorities of the two countries.
